Mr.Britten English 12 January 5, 2016 Journal #3 My winter break was the best part of my 2015 year, I got to do so many fun things and spend time with family I had not seen in many years. We went up to Lake Tahoe and spent like 2 weeks there it was a nice experience because we traveled to many places there and it snowed for a week straight so we had about 3 feet of snow around town. We also went to Reno, Nevada where we visited some Casino’s with the best Buffets. We had fun going up a very tall mountain and then sliding down the snow, even though I crashed into a pine tree. So I can say that 2015 was a wonderful year for me. This semester was honestly pretty tough because it was hard staying up with all the work that I had to do in my classes. At first I thought that I wasn’t going to pass all my 7 out of 7 classes this semester because I had tons of work to do for many classes but I have never planned on giving up on any obstacle in life. So in order to make up all the work I started staying after school and also stayed up very late ,every night. With all this hard work I did all the things I had to make up for and finished all the work for the first semester that I had to do. It was also a really good year going to all the Football games that were here home so that I could be out there to support my school. The reality of my last semester has hit me because it is hard to believe that this is my last year here in Lindsay High School. Before this semester ends I need to make sure I finish English 12B, Economics, and Government; in order to graduate. I have applied for COS and PC this year but my goal is to go to COS and after that transfer to Fresno State and finish getting my Bachelors degree there. After that I plan on getting a job as either an interpreter or a Collision and Repair mechanic. These two jobs really interest me because they are both things that I really like doing. I love spending time helping people out when they need translation from english to spanish or the other way around. It can be from speaking or it can be filling out papers that they need to fill out like the recent experience I had in some apartments when I helped the manager translate all the documents that the people that lived there had to fill out. The other thing that I really love doing is working on my car, every time it needs an oil change or another tune-up I don’t take it to the mechanic I do it myself because I love learning new things each time and doing the work myself. I know each thing that i’m doing daily will help me in the future because this is all needed in an everyday schedule. Journal #2
Since my last Journal entry everything seems to be getting more stressful because time seems to be just flying by. Right now I am on pace for 6 out of my 7 classes, the only class I am a little behind in is Economics. But I am planning on being on pace by the end of the semester because I just need to make-up an EOT. I am sure I will be on pace because I will try my hardest to keep up my good grades and stay on pace for all my 7 classes. I am loving all my classes this year because I feel that this year I am learning to become more independent and look more at my future. After High School I am planning on taking a year off from school and work really hard to make some good money and then enroll myself in college. My goal is to attend either COS, or Fresno State and get my Bachelor’s Degree to become an Interpreter/Translator in courts. I am sure that I can achieve my goal if I attain to it and don’t let it go. My parents and brothers are all encouraging me to do this because they didn’t go to college. They tell me that if I don’t take advantage of this opportunity I will end up like them, working in the burning sun for hours. Each weekend or when we have a Holiday that we get a day or two off from school, I don’t get to sleep in like some other students do. I have to wake up early in the morning before sunrise and get ready to go work in the fields with my brothers. I have learned from this to appreciate all I have and to work hard for what I want in life. So I am not going to let anything stop me from being the first one in the family from graduating from High School and attending college. Currently I am not having any problems with my Senior Project, It is fairly easy at the moment. I can really say I am enjoying this year because I am learning new things that will help me better myself in the future. But one thing that I am not liking about this year is that time is flying by, and honestly it is kind of scary to think that tomorrow you will be out there in the real world by yourself. I will miss all the moments I’ve had at Lindsay High School with all the teachers and friends. It is going to be really hard to say goodbye to all the new friends and teachers that I have met this year but I know we will still see each other some day. I am also planning to come and visit some of my teachers after High School because I am really grateful that they have helped me in everything I have needed throughout these years in High School. I hope time slows down a bit because I want to spend more time here with all these wonderful friends and teacher at Lindsay High School. Ignacio Meza
Period:3 Friday, August 21 Journal Entry #1 At first I thought that my years in Lindsay High were going to be more difficult. I thought that i was going to struggle with all the work that I had to complete. But as the years have gone by all I’ve seen is just that if you strive for what you want anything is possible. I have stayed up with all my work since Freshmen year because I knew that if I fell behind I was going to struggle with my senior year. Not only did I try my best but I went for higher grades than what I knew I could do. Luckily I passed all my classes in my Freshmen year. Then came Sophomore year, throughout this year a point came clear to my head, that if you put all the work and effort you can into all your work everything will be easier. I didn’t have any problems getting through my Sophomore year I felt that it passed by flying. Now when my Junior year came, I felt things got a little more difficult. Not only was I getting more work from my teachers but I also had more things to work on such as my Job Shadow and my community hours. But I still managed to get through it now I am glad to say I have made it to my senior year. So far my Senior year has been simple nothing too complicated with it. I am keeping up with all my classes and I hope they don’t get too complicated. But no matter what ima keep trying my best so that I could get through this year without no problem. I will also get in all my college applications in so that i’m prepared for when the moment comes. I will try my best to finish High School because I will be the first one in the family to graduate out of High School. That will be a great feeling because I feel proud to be the first one out of the family to graduate and to go to college in my family. This year I am looking forward to having fun throughout the whole year. I will participate in many activities and try to meet more people and learning facilitators to get along with. I am already planning what I will do after High School, and where I will go take my senior pictures this year. I want to go to the mountains up by Balch Park and take my Senior picture over there. It is really nice over there so I think it would make a beautiful background to have all the sequoias in the back of me. I am also excited about doing my community hours so that I could help out in some place and also meet new people. I am also looking forward to doing my Senior Exit Interview I hope that goes good and I pass. I will try to make the best presentation that I can. This is what I expect out of my senior year, and I sure hope I graduate so I can get my life going in college. |
